The Role
The school is looking for a qualified Music Teacher with proven experience teaching across all key stages up to GCSE and A-Level. The ideal candidate will possess both high practical ability and a deep understanding of musical theory history and technology. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering exceptional engaging lessons in Music to students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level covering diverse musical styles and historical periods.
- Developing and implementing an ambitious curriculum that incorporates advanced composition performance and music technology skills.
- Directing and coordinating a range of extracurricular musical ensembles orchestras choirs and bands and organizing prestigious public and school performances.
- Guiding students through examination preparation and supporting those aiming for highly competitive university and conservatoire placements.
- Collaborating with the Arts faculty to maintain and enhance the schools outstanding reputation for creativity and performance.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this elite position you should have:
- A degree in Music or a related performing arts discipline from a strong university.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE (or equivalent teaching qualifications).
- Extensive proven experience teaching Music at the secondary school level with expertise at A-Level.
- High proficiency on at least one musical instrument and expertise in utilizing current music technology (e.g. sequencing notation software).
- Exceptional communication presentation and leadership skills with a passion for nurturing individual musical talent.
Salary & Application
The salary for this position is highly competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale (Inner London pay scale) commensurate with your experience and superior qualifications.
