Job Title : Ignition Team Leader and Developer - R1012471
Location : St. Louis MO (Project location is in Jefferson City and the nearby resource location e.g. St. Louis preferred. Initially 7-8 weeks onsite presence is required and then can be optimized based on the requirement i.e. 50%. We prefer minimum travel to optimize travel cost. Expenses per Hitachi DS Travel Policy)
Duration : 6 Months Contract (Potential for extension)
Pay Rate : $75/hr. on C2C
Qualifying Questions:
- Have you experience in at least one full Ignition deployment from design to go-live
- Are you able to design and deliver scalable modular solutions in Ignition (Perspective Scripting)
- Do you have IIoT or Industry 4.0 experience in Manufacturing domain
- Can you build custom scripts backend logic and integrations using Python Java SQL and Timescale DB
- Are you familiar with Cloud Platforms (AWS IoT Azure IoT or similar)
- Have you worked with Git or similar source control tools
Job Description:
- Design and deliver scalable modular solutions in Ignition (Perspective Scripting).
- Build custom scripts backend logic and integrations using Python Java SQL and Timescale DB.
- Develop responsive industrial dashboards with Ignition Perspective HTML CSS and Java.
- Integrate industrial protocols and platforms (MQTT OPC UA Modbus Hive MQ) for secure connectivity.
- Manage deployments with Kubernetes and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements ensure best practices and provide documentation/training.
Required Skills:
- Experience in at least one full Ignition deployment from design to go-live.
- Strong knowledge of Ignition (Perspective Scripting) with modular and scalable design expertise.
- Proficiency in Python Java SQL and Timescale DB for backend logic automation and data workflows.
- Skilled in web technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript) for building responsive industrial dashboards.
- Hands-on experience with industrial protocols (MQTT OPC UA Modbus) and tools like Hive MQ.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines in manufacturing/OT environments.
- Experience: 5 years in IIoT Ignition Edge Computing with 10 years in Automation.
Custom Skill Requirements:
- Ignition: Ignition platform design build and deployment best practices; Ignition Perspective development and Integration.
- IIOT: Deep knowledge of IIoT data acquisition from various machine application.
- IT-OT Integration: Expert integrating IT-OT systems such as OPC-UA Modbus and other Industrial protocol.
- Automation: Deep understanding shop-floor PLC/DCS automation and Ignition solution.
- Python: Python Scripting in Ignition development.
- Java: Java Scripting in Ignition development.
- AWS IoT: Good to have.
- IIOT Security: Good to have.
- GitHub: Source control and manage deployment release.
Skill Requirements:
- Manufacturing: Design build and deploy Ignition solution in Manufacturing environment.
- GUI Design: Ability to develop Ignition Perspective Solution for Manufacturing customer.
- Shopfloor Expertise (Prod): Understand manufacturing shop-floor scenarios and addressing challenges through Ignition solution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing or Industry 4.0 experience.
- Familiarity with Cloud Platforms (AWS IoT Azure IoT or similar)
- Knowledge of IIoT security practices.
- GitHub portfolio with relevant projects.
