Job Description
Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Calabasas CA It will be hybrid 4 days a week on-site and 1 day remote.
Duration: Contract to hire
Qualifications
Required
- 7 years of professional experience in data engineering across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Expert in SQL (Snowflake Azure Synapse Oracle SQL Server) and Python for pipelines APIs and automation.
- Proven success designing and scaling platforms on Snowflake Databricks Microsoft Fabric Gen 2 and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Strong hands-on experience with workflow orchestration (Airflow/MWAA Azure Data Factory dbt).
- Demonstrated mastery of Terraform/IaC serverless AWS & Azure architectures Docker/Kubernetes.
- Strong DevOps background (CI/CD pipelines Git branching strategies automated testing infrastructure-as-code).
- Familiarity with enterprise governance RBAC metadata lineage and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Datadog Prometheus Grafana Kibana Azure Monitor).
- Ability to debug and resolve complex data issues spanning multiple systems.
Preferred
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud integrations and identity resolution.
- Background in finance systems revenue recognition or high-volume payment processing.
- Hands-on exposure to Iceberg/Delta tables and advanced data lakehouse architectures.
- Experience optimizing Snowflake Synapse and Databricks clusters for cost efficiency.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-driven analytics predictive modeling or real-time inference workflows.
- Prior experience in travel hospitality or consumer-facing industries.
