Were searching for a technically sharp Intermediate Database Administrator (DBA) to join their high-performing IT team. This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled professional ready to bring hands-on depth in SQL platforms automation and operational resiliencewhile learning in a fast-scaling cloud-forward tech environment.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deploy configure and administer PostgreSQL MS SQL and MySQL databases to ensure optimal uptime security and performance.
Optimize complex queries implement indexing strategies and proactively manage storage and scaling.
Automate routine DBA tasks using Bash or Python scripting integrating with monitoring or deployment pipelines.
Lead patch management and version upgrades to ensure secure up-to-date systems across environments.
Monitor database health using toolsets perform integrity checks and proactively resolve bottlenecks and exceptions.
Support development teams with data modelling and performance tuning initiatives.
Contribute to disaster recovery strategies and participate in failover testing.

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

A tertiary qualification in IT or related field
4 years of hands-on experience in database administration across multiple SQL platforms.
Strong experience in Linux and Windows environments with scripting skills (e.g. Bash Python).
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana ELK Stack ScienceLogic) and version control workflows (e.g. GitHub).
Strong understanding of database security performance tuning and backup/recovery strategies.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
Bonus: Exposure to DevOps tools containerization (Docker Kubernetes) or cloud-native data service
