ROLE SUMMARY:
The Sr. Specialist MCC Transportation is responsible for managing over-the-road freight operations from the Metal Container Corporation (MCC) facilities and third-party warehouses optimizing transportation costs monitoring carrier performance against key KPIs collaborating with cross-functional teams enhancing carrier and plant relationships and driving process improvements to meet logistics goals and service level agreements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for securing freight coverage from multiple MCC production facilities and third-party warehouse locations via over the road and dedicated carriers.
Drive performance relative to overall MCC transportation budget focused on delivering shipment plans with cost-effective carriers.
Work daily with cross-functional teams such as inventory management order management Tier 1 and BSC.
Monitor carrier performance of critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including award acceptance percentage on-time arrival on-time delivery FPL and carrier freight claims.
Manage MCC returnable materials between MCC and third-party locations.
Develop and improve relationships with MCC carrier partners by providing excellent customer service and communicating in a professional manner.
Identify and implement process changes that improve execution in day-to-day activities.
Address operational topics with sense of urgency and make sure operations are servicing internal SLAs.
Work effectively as a team member within the logistics team to deliver overall strategic goals and improve team engagement.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Logistics Engineering Business or related field required
Computer proficiency required including advanced Excel skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High attention to detail; strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Ability to meet tight deadlines work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Experience in warehouse logistics and transport management preferred
Experience in SAP and JDA/TMS preferred
