Job summary

The EHS (Environment Health and Safety) Coordinator will apply technical knowledge to implement corporate standards and deal with hazardous processes. They will also leverage their experience in people management to influence and lead our safety environmental and firefighting teams on a daily basis. The Coordinator will guide the development of strategies implementing and sustaining corporate process safety management standards and ensuring the prevention of serious process safety events.

Main responsibilities

  • Management of a team of safety technicians environmental analysts and firefighters;
  • Evaluate risks opportunities impacts EHS norms and regulations advising on potential implications for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Lead the implementation of programs and processes in alignment with government EHS regulations the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) management system and corporate guidelines;
  • Implement EHS activities including emergency response plans incident/accident management training implementation and performance management;
  • Provide operational leadership for audit processes inspections and risk assessments;
  • Develop/control the annual EHS budget for the safety sector;
  • Promote the conduct of operational and managerial committees with a focus on occupational safety;
  • Identify situations with the potential to cause occupational illnesses participating with the relevant areas in redefining work methods or equipment operation criteria;
  • Contribute to EHS risk management by identifying and evaluating high-risk processes conducting EHS risk analysis and taking appropriate action plans to ensure compliance standards are met;
  • Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring performance and disciplinary actions. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as your team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering and active CREA / SESMET registration;
  • Experience with systems in the EHS area and team management/leadership;
  • Intermediate English.

Desirable: Postgraduate degree in Process Safety Environment Occupational Hygiene or related areas;
