Help shape the future of U.S. airspace safety and efficiency. We are seeking a Facilities Workstream Safety Lead to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. The ideal candidate willoversee and enforce safety standards across FAA facility design construction and modernization this role you will providetechnical safety leadership compliance oversight and risk management ensuring that all facility-related activities includingpower HVAC cabling and physical infrastructure are conducted in accordance with FAA standards and federal safety position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs.

In this position you will:

  • Lead safety oversight for allfacilities-related workstreams including construction installation and upgrades.

  • Ensure compliance withFAA standards OSHA regulations and federal safety management requirements.

  • Develop implement and monitorsafety risk management plans hazard identification and mitigation strategies.

  • Conduct and overseesafety audits inspections and incident investigations.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams contractors and subcontractors toembed safety requirements into facility designs and plans.

  • Provide safety expertise duringrequirements reviews design reviews and readiness assessments.

  • Prepare and maintainsafety documentation risk registers and compliance reports.

  • Ensure all projects adhere toSafety Management System (SMS) principlesand FAA safety guidelines.

  • Delivertraining and mentoringto project staff and subcontractors on safety practices and standards.

  • Report safety performance risks and recommendations to FAA leadership and program managers.

  • Leadsafety programs for large-scale facility or infrastructure projects.
  • Conductingsafety risk assessments hazard analyses and compliance audits.
  • Oversee and managecontractor and subcontractor safety performance.
  • Managemultiple concurrent safety initiativesacross geographically distributed sites.
  • Ensureaudit readinessand support external safety reviews.
  • Collaborate with program managers engineers contractors and stakeholders to ensure that safety is integrated into every phaseof FAA facilities projects.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience or Masters degree and 6 years or or Associates degree and 10 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience.
  • Experience in facilities safety management construction safety or systems safety roles.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA NFPA EPA and federal safety regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and brief leadership.
  • Experience working in federal or highly regulated safety environments.
  • Strong background in safety management systems (SMS) and continuous improvement practices.
  • Knowledge of facility systems including power HVAC cabling and physical infrastructure.
  • Safety engineering construction or operations experience
  • Certification in Safety Management (e.g. Certified Safety Professional CSP Certified Systems Engineering Professional CSEP with safety emphasis ASP - Associate Safety Professional SMS Safety Mgmt Specialist CHST Construction Safety)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct FAA or NAS configuration management experience.
  • Advanced degree inSafety Engineering Occupational Health or related discipline.

  • Professional certifications such asCSP (Certified Safety Professional) CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or CSME (Certified Safety Management Expert).

  • Experience managing safety programs forFAA DOT DHS or other federal infrastructure projects.

  • Familiarity withFAA NextGen modernization programsand facilities safety dependencies.

  • Background ingreen building LEED standards and sustainable construction practices.

  • Experience developing or contributing tofederal safety standards or industry best practices.

  • Familiarity withFAA standards for facility safety and infrastructure compliance.

Target Salary Range

$86000 - $138000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
