Job Description
In the Amazon Fire TV team we are creating the most engaging entertainment platform for the whole family worldwide. Be part of a fast-paced agile and innovative team who is delivering new experiences to Fire TV devices in a startup like environment.
We are looking for a passionate talented Software Development Engineer who can drive key engineering and business decisions that impact Amazons long-term vision including innovation in the delivery and consumption of media and this development role you will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design architecture and implementation of state of the art products used every day by people you know.
As a Software Development Engineer in the team you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products by developing and integrating Android based features and applications.
Key job responsibilities
- The development of new Android innovative features and applications and initiatives across the organization.
- Investigate prototype and deliver new and innovative software applications.
- Deliver high quality software through working in a diverse team-focused Agile/Scrum environment.
- Instill best practices for software development and documentation assure designs meet requirements and deliver quality work
- Support the development activities by being onsite with the partners and vendors.
About the team

We work in a way that works for us with Scrum ceremonies and agile ways of working. The team review how we work during retrospectives and by periodically discussing our team ways of working.
No process is set in stone and we believe in constant incremental improvement.
- Experience in professional non-internship software development
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java C or C# including object-oriented design
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations
