Job Description Summary

The Senior Counsel Science and Technology Organization will be a key member of the legal and compliance leadership team for the GE HealthCare.

In this position you will provide strategic legal support for all matters related to the operation of the GE Healthcare Healthcare Technology and Innovation Center (HTIC). Such support will include leading the legal work associated with our technology programs particularly those funded by the government and continuing fully compliant operations. You will also work with the GE HealthCare Business general counsels Compliance and Intellectual Property teams as needed to support the execution of the businesss research strategy.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Support HTICs contracting operations as the subject matter expert on terms and conditions and overseeing the drafting and negotiation of US Government Contracts OTAs Consortia Agreements Grants & Cooperative Agreements CRADAs and all associated subcontracts and subawards.
  • Participate in bid/no bid decision support kick-off meetings preliminary requirements review DEI reviews SOW reviews risk reviews.
  • Provide dispute resolution with the government primes and subs; Govt disclosures and US Govt audit support as needed.
  • Oversee the drafting negotiation and management of NDAs MTAs Research Agreements Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) templates Statement of Work guidelines and templates.
  • Partner with EHS leader ad Regulatory Specialist to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements applicable to the Research Centers regulated activities including human subjects and preclinical testing.
  • Provide expert strategic legal advice to management anticipating issues and estimating risk.
  • Establish and support a strong culture of compliance across the enterprise including:
    • Lead and conduct investigations into potential non-compliance including internal matters and those and resulting disclosures to government agencies in the U.S. and abroad
    • Provide forward-looking proactive risk identification and prevention
    • Coordinate with the global compliance team and relevant business owners as needed to support regular review of compliance data
    • Identify and resolve compliance-related procedural issues and areas of improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor Degree and active bar membership
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing complex legal issues
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an in-house legal department
  • Demonstrate knowledge of corporate compliance issues & programs

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in government funding and government contracting.
  • Knowledge of and direct experience with compliance issues such as anti-bribery/anti-corruption Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Anti-Kickback Statute research and third-party compliance
  • Experience in the healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical industry regulations
  • AI Technology or Digital health technology experience
  • Knowledge of legal issues associated with third party collaborations compliance and intellectual property matters including experience handling IP-related issues arising in software and technology transactions
  • Experience creating and delivering training to senior level personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process-driven solutions to legal issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional environment across all levels of management.
  • Proven track record of project and process development implementation and project management with minimal supervision required.
  • Proven ability to function as a member of a global team in a complex matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal and regulatory issues quickly and effectively with an ability to make real-time decisions.

We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only the pay range for this position is $193600.00-$290400.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills qualifications experience and addition this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Additional Information

While GE HealthCare does not currently require U.S. employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 some GE HealthCare customers have vaccination mandates that may apply to certain GE HealthCare employees.
