The Opportunity

ThePipelayerwill be responsible for the efficient installation of a variety of pipes and fittings related to civil construction including water sanitary sewer hydro and storm water collection systems.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Work safely on a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
  • Work with the Foreman and other team members to ensure pipe is aligned positioned and installed in accordance with project specifications
  • Support the safe assembly and use of trench shoring systems

  • Ensure back fill and compaction around pipe to ensure proper positioning and support

  • Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues

  • Train other employees and maintain quality results of work
  • Support other crew members on daily site activities outside of job scope

Qualifications Experience & Skillset


  • Experience in civil utilities including storm sanitary sewer water and hydro
  • Experience using pipe and rotary lasers
  • Ability to read and understand drawings specifications
  • Working knowledge of pipe grading survey and evaluations
  • Able to identify all hazards associated with various aspects of working in civil projects as well as correctly communicate safety issues as they arise
  • First aid confined space and fall protection training is an asset
  • Good communications ability able to work with variety of individuals
  • Must be physically fit able to spend most or all of shift standing walking lifting carrying and working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
  • Flexible with hours worked including overtime and weekend work as needed
  • Willingness to learn and have a good work ethic
