JOB TITLE: Digital and Learning Resources Systems Clerk
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-exempt
FUNDING SOURCE: Local
REPORTS TO: Director of Digital and Learning Resources
PAY GRADE: Paraprofessional 060 (230 days)
DEPARTMENT: Digital and Learning Services

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assists the director in providing districtwide technical and operational support for the library circulation cataloging and reporting systems instructional materials and online learning platforms. Ensures efficient functioning of library systems for 34 campuses supports the credit recovery and online initial credit platform and the instructional materials inventory platform. Maintains systems that support premium resource access including subscription databases and digital resources that directly impact student access to learning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Relevant experience in library automation instructional materials systems and virtual learning platform (preferred)
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to sustain attention to detail
- Effective organizational skills
- Proficient skills in Google Suite and Office 365
- Knowledge of library automation and inventory management systems (e.g. TLC TipWeb).
- Ability to manage multiple digital resources databases and web platforms.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms (Edgenuity or similar).
- Effective communicator and collaborator with campus staff and district departments
- Customer service-oriented
- Ability to effectively convey technical information to users with a wide spectrum of computer knowledge and experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Library Systems Support
- Manage operate and maintain The Library Corporation (TLC) system (library circulation cataloging and reporting system) across all campuses.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance for 34 campus libraries and related systems.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance for students teachers and administrators for the Edgenuity platform.
- Communicates with vendors about issues IP authentication access
- Maintain support and update all district library web pages including individual campus library sites.
- Responsible for supporting online resources (databases)and eBook platforms to ensure reliable access for students and staff.
- Conduct library collection analysis twice annually for 34 campus libraries.
- Assist with online cataloging and book processing during receiving seasons.
- Assists the director with district-wide training of library systems that support collection development
- Create in-house documentation as needed.
- Maintain procedural documentation for all systems.
- Generate usage data every 6 weeks for print circulation eBooks databases and online instructional resources.
- Assist with Irving ISD library parent and community events.
- Trains new librarians and library clerks on the library circulation and reporting platform
Instructional Materials & Library Inventory Management
- Perform large-scale TipWeb data entry for instructional materials.
- Provide support for instructional materials inventory and processing during receiving seasons.
- Coordinate and implement annual library inventory schedules for 34 libraries.
Online Virtual Learning Support
- Troubleshoot Edgenuity platform issues for virtual learning students and staff.
- Generate rosters and distribute grade and tracking reports for the online initial credit program.
Operational & Seasonal Support
- Provide additional cataloging inventory and processing support during peak receiving and distribution periods.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for in-district travel to Irving ISD Campuses. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Safety: Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training wearing personal protective equipment as required reporting injuries and incidents immediately to supervisor and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
