Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Project Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be reliable detail-oriented and capable of working independently to deliver high-quality project outcomes. Responsibilities:

  • Install repair and upgrade fire alarm systems; program control panels using building plans and electrical layouts

  • Mount sensors and perform installation tasks (e.g. drilling holes accessing crawlspaces/attics)

  • Ensure all work complies with current codes and safety regulations

  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings including conduit work and drilling through concrete walls

  • Complete wiring connections and equipment installations in compliance with electrical and fire codes

  • Test and verify functionality of newly installed fire alarm systems and components

  • Troubleshoot installations to ensure proper operation and compliance with local state and federal codes as well as insurance requirements

Requirements:

  • Fire Alarm License and/or NICET II certification (preferred not required)

  • Willingness and availability to travel as needed

  • Current/valid state-required Physical Security and/or Life Safety license in applicable technology

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site maps

  • Knowledge of NFPA standards including NFPA 70 and NFPA 72

  • Experience with burglar alarms access control and CCTV (a plus)

  • Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Certification to operate boom/scissor lifts; ability to work at heights

  • Possession of basic telecommunication tools PPE and reliable transportation

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)
