Project Accountant (Construction Accounting)
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Review of financial status of projects to verify remaining contract balances
- Creation of job cost reports
- Analysis of accounts payable and payment bond claims Owner claims and change orders
- Preparation of payment applications
- Analysis of the financial status of construction contractor
- Assistance in the generation of Estimated Loss Reports based on contract status
- Analysis of WIP schedules to determine contract status and cost to complete
- Review and reconciliation of payment requisitions and invoices to record and coordinate appropriate payments
- Quality control of check distribution
- Creation of future forecasts to determine appropriate fund allocation
Desired Skills and Qualifications Include:
- 2-5 years of construction accounting experience preferred but we will provide sufficient training.
- Problem solving skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Intermediary to Advanced Excel Skills
- Working knowledge of Accounting Software and Tools: Sage QuickBooks ComputerEase (preferred)
- Certified Public Accountant license a plus
- Surety experience is a plus but we will train
