Project Accountant (Construction Accounting)

Job Responsibilities Include:

Review of financial status of projects to verify remaining contract balances
Creation of job cost reports
Analysis of accounts payable and payment bond claims Owner claims and change orders
Preparation of payment applications
Analysis of the financial status of construction contractor
Assistance in the generation of Estimated Loss Reports based on contract status
Analysis of WIP schedules to determine contract status and cost to complete
Review and reconciliation of payment requisitions and invoices to record and coordinate appropriate payments
Quality control of check distribution
Creation of future forecasts to determine appropriate fund allocation

Desired Skills and Qualifications Include:

2-5 years of construction accounting experience preferred but we will provide sufficient training.
Problem solving skills
Critical thinking skills
Strong interpersonal and writing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Intermediary to Advanced Excel Skills
Working knowledge of Accounting Software and Tools: Sage QuickBooks ComputerEase (preferred)
Certified Public Accountant license a plus
Surety experience is a plus but we will train
