Our Fabrication shop specializes in the design and fabrication of pressure piping fittings and vessels. Our expertise includes a wide range of alloy materials and specialized fabrication and welding processes. The Role
We are seeking a motivated Shop Fabrication Pipefitter to join our fabrication team. This is a full-time shop-based role with a schedule of Monday to Thursday 6:30 am 5:00 pm. Future project requirements may include overtime weekend shifts or short-term field work.
Compensation/Benefits
- 3rd and 4th year rates are 80% and 90% respectively of Journeyperson wage which is $44.00 per hour.
- Overtime at time and a half after 8 hours per day.
- 6% vacation pay and 4% stat holiday pay on all regular hours.

Responsibilities/Duties
- Maintain equipment.
- Read blueprints and specifications.
- Layout assemble fabricate maintain and repair piping systems which carry water steam chemicals or fuel used in heating cooling lubricating and other processes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring cutting threading grooving of pipes valves and fittings
- Layout assemble fabricate maintain and repair pressurized piping systems
- Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies adding designed supports as required
- Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors
- Maintain all tools work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications
- Red-line update drawings to an as-built condition
- Ensure FLRA is completed at the beginning of every job and work is completed safely.
- Complete equipment maintenance in line with OCL Group and industry standards procedures and practices.
- May perform other related duties assigned
- Maintain shop cleanliness.

Experience/Education/Qualifications
- Registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Pipefitter
- Registered Journeyman Pipefitter
- Previous experience in a shop or industrial fabrication environment
- CSTS 2020 Fundamentals (contains WHMIS 2015)
- May be required to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test when working on certain sites
- May need to have certain safety tickets and complete site specific orientations for certain sites
- Class 5 drivers license with reliable transportation to and from work
