2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm or 5:00pm - 1:30am Mon-Fri

On-Call every 5th weekend & holidays

Under the general supervision of the Central Sterilization Manager Responsible for decontamination disinfection inspection assembly and sterilization of reusable medical supplies instruments and equipment dispensed by the department.

• Ensure safe handling of items through decontamination process according to policy and procedure
• Ensure vendor compliance for delivery and packaging of equipment/instrumentation
• Processing all equipment/instrumentation from all campuses and offsite ancillary departments
• Ensure all safety measures taken with regard to policy and procedure
• Disassemble items for cleaning and sterilizing; reassembling cleaned and sterilized items
• Complete tray assembly inclusive of inventory inspection assembly and containment
• Complete sterilization process according to policy and procedure
• Transport completed instrumentation to defined storage locations within the operating room
• Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular reliable attendance.
• Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA TJC DNV OSHA and other federal/state regulatory

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

• 1 year prior experience in Central Services/Central Supply preferred.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification to be obtained within 1 year of start date.

Other:

• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs repetitively.
• This role will require you to stand on your feet for up to 8 hours at a time.
• This role will require travel to our Bettendorf Rock Island and Moline locations as needed each shift at times mid-shift.
