We are looking for an Assistant Underwriter for our SME and Platform team to cover a period of parental leave and contribute to the property and reinsurance activities within the Commercial Underwriting and market pricing centre of excellence.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- QA & Compliance: Ensuring timely and accurate monthly reporting on TUQA and underwriting audits.
- Risk Management: Effectively underwrite business insurance including risk selection and authorisations.
- Reinsurance: Assisting with the smooth administration of facultative reinsurance programs.
- Customer Focus: Drive value for commercial customers and business partners ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Digital Focus: Manage digital partner referrals analyse trends and drive system improvements to maximize business value.
- Innovation: Support digitisation and automation initiatives.
What you will need to succeed:
- 3 years industry experience in a commercial underwriting role
- Strong understanding of the NZ commercial sector
- Exemplary customer focus
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict
- Innovation skills consultation influencing and negotiation capability
