Evolve Graduate Programme Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Ethos Engineering is excited to welcome graduates to our Evolve Graduate Programme. As a Mechanical Engineer you will join our Engineering Studio a collaborative pool of engineers designed to give you hands-on experience across multiple departments and projects. Through rotations across groups you will broaden your technical expertise gain exposure to multidisciplinary building services and be supported by both a mentor and a buddy.

Over an 18-month structured journey you will complete technical professional and leadership training modules while contributing to live client projects. This programme is designed to accelerate your development and set you on a clear path toward professional chartership and a rewarding career in building services.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong academic performance in relevant mechanical engineering coursework.
  • Must be based in Ireland and able to attend our Dublin office at least three (3) days per week under our hybrid model.
  • Previous placement internship or project experience in building services is beneficial but not required.

Candidate Attributes

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit MEP (exposure to BIM modelling is advantageous).
  • Knowledge of HVAC system design thermal load calculations and fluid dynamics.
  • Awareness of CIBSE ASHRAE and Irish building regulations.
  • Interest in sustainability energy efficiency and low-carbon design.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Eagerness to learn adapt and embrace new technologies and engineering tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design and analyse mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Rotate across groups within the Engineering Studio to gain multidisciplinary project exposure.
  • Develop expertise in mechanical engineering principles and apply them to real-world challenges.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings reports and project documentation.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with CIBSE ASHRAE BS IS and EN standards.
  • Gain field exposure through site visits inspections and troubleshooting activities.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable and energy-efficient building services solutions.

    Key Activities

    • Engage in the design and analysis of mechanical systems for building projects.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across diverse projects.
    • Conduct technical research to support engineering decision-making.
    • Attend structured training sessions workshops and CPDs.
    • Participate in project meetings and client interactions.
    • Visit project sites to gain practical exposure to inspections installations and commissioning.
    • Contribute to sustainable energy-efficient mechanical solutions.
