Job Summary
IT Field Engineer
- IT Field Engineer
- Truro Cornwall
- Up to c32000 per year Company Car
- Plus excellent company benefits (including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension Life Insurance etc.)
Skills and Experience:
- Travel to client sites across Cornwall to provide IT support and troubleshooting.
- Install and configure IT hardware and software (servers PCs printers networking devices).
- Support Microsoft 365 Active Directory and Windows environments.
- Carry-out basic networking troubleshooting (TCP/IP DNS DHCP routing VLANs).
- Keep accurate records of all work and customer interactions.
- Collaborate with the Plymouth-based Support Desk team on escalated issues.
- Deliver friendly professional customer service offering guidance and reassurance when needed.
- Undertake training and to assist in training other or new members of staff as required.
- Undertake other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job.
- Work in accordance with all company procedures and guidelines.
NB: A full UK Driving licence is essential (if you dont have a driving licence then your application wont be considered Im afraid)
The Opportunity:
My client working within the technology sector are currently looking to recruit for an IT Field Engineer that will see you reporting into the Field Service Manager and where youll be out and about visiting different client sites.
You will be providing on-site IT support as well as conducting installations and maintenance work and will need to adopt a flexible approach to your IT Support duties as every day will be different with new environments new challenges and varying technologies to work with.
The ideal candidate will be self-driven solution-focussed with strong communication skills - both for liaising with colleagues internally but also when communicating to clients with varied IT literacy.
Previous field experience is not required; this role could be the ideal move for someone currently in a desk-based IT support role who is looking for a more varied hands-on position.
