The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicants prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.

An applicant with a positive test shall not be offered employment. This position is also subject to federal testing regulations pursuant to 49 CFR Part 40 (Federal Drug and Alcohol Regulations) and49 CFR Part 382 (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) which prohibits the use of marijuana including medical marijuana. Work Location: District 4 Headquarters Garage 2088 South Arlington Road Akron OH 44306

What You Will Do:

You will perform major overhauls of gasoline &/or diesel engines.

You will perform repairs rebuilds &/or replaces minor & major parts.

You will diagnose troubleshoot replace &/or repair electronic systems.

You will identify troubleshoot repair & calibrate hydraulic system control units.

ALL ANSWERS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUPPORTED BY THE WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PROVIDED ON YOUR CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION.

The selection process for this position will include a structured interview. Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

Hours may vary based on operational need.

All new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.

This position is unclassified pursuant to O.R.C. 124.11(A)(29).
