As part of the global Mining Products Engineering Department specifically our Screens and Feeders Consumables Team youll focus on design engineering and tooling development for consumables used across our product lines.
Interpret and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Carry out detailed design work using SolidWorks AutoCAD and Enovia to prepare layouts manufacturing drawings and tooling designs.
Transform design concepts into detailed technical drawings and production documentation for polyurethane consumables and associated tooling/moulds.
Ensure design accuracy by adhering to FLSmidths standards industry codes and client specifications.
Collaborate with engineers and business units to produce drawing packages including general arrangement drawings manufacturing drawings and tooling/mould drawings required to manufacture end products.
Modify and update existing designs based on feedback changes in requirements or continuous improvement initiatives.
Create update and manage design files CAD libraries and databases to maintain drawing organisation.
Stay up to date with the latest CAD software and industry advancements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Develop and maintain CAD standards and procedures within the organisation.
Identify potential design issues and propose solutions to improve product or project quality.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years experience in design engineering with a strong focus on tooling/mould design for polyurethane components and consumables preferred.
Previous experience with product design for mining or heavy industrial equipment is highly regarded.
Proficiency with key engineering software and systems including:
SolidWorks (3D CAD modelling and drafting)
AutoCAD (2D layout and detailed drawings)
Enovia (Web Client & Windows Client)
Adobe Reader for technical documentation review
Ansys (analysis/simulation)
Sound understanding of engineering fundamentals design tools manufacturing processes materials and global quality standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to adapt to diverse requirements and demands across multiple job functions; capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects.
Excellent organisational multitasking and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail.
