Job Summary
St. James House is accepting applications for a full time Certified Medication Aides. 12 hour rotating shifts available.
Must be currently certified by the Texas Medication Aide Registry and Texas Nurse Aide Registry.
$500 SIGN ON BONUS FOR FULL TIME POSITIONS
POSITION SUMMARY:
Cooperates with all other departments that impact the functioning of the unit
Provides leadership in conjunction with nursing assistants including in participation in standard setting and maintenance of care standards
Provides intermittent care and may be required to cover vacant positions when necessary.
Participates in education and development of all nursing staff.
Acts as a clinical resource for all nursing units.
Assist the nurse with medication administration.
Assists the residents in performing activities of daily living provides a clean and safe living environment.
Gathers data on the residents physical and emotional state and reports observations to the charge nurse.
TASK PERFORMED:
. Knows and implements facility policies and procedures.
Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members.
Maintains confidentiality at all times in all matters pertaining to resident and staff issues.
Offers regular feedback guidance and support to staff in accordance with unit policy.
Administers medications to residents and re-orders medications as needed.
. Checks MARs are correct with physicians orders and properly transcribed on MARs.
Answers call lights and assist residents with ADLs/ needs.
Provides stimulation and meaningful activities for residents.
Answers the telephone assist nurse with clerical duties.
Schedules appointments and transportation for residents.
Assist nurse with management and delivery of care within the units.
Assist nurse with the transfer of residents per policy.
Assist with standard of setting protocols and quality assurance programs
Assist with the process of clinical and record audits.
Assist in preventing spread of infection by using universal precautions
Assist in the provision of a safe and clean environment
