Role Purpose
Responsible for leading and directing the activities of other GSE mechanics. Also does the work of a mechanic as required.
- Location:Ronald Reagan Washington National airport (DCA)
- Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:30 am - 3:00 pm)
- Pay Rate: $35.00 an hour
- Required:Must possess mechanical tools and toolbox
What you will be doing
- All duties listed under GSE 12 and 3.
- Leadership Training
- Advanced trouble shooting.
- Verify that vehicles and equipment can pass appropriate safety inspections.
- Maintain repair and service all aspects of all vehicles and equipment.
- Determines the need and extent of repair work required on vehicles and equipment based on
operators reports and testing equipment. - Assist in instructing Mechanic 2 on work procedures applicable to their respective level.
Inspects and approves work of Mechanic 2. - Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
- Completes required documentation and performs data entry.
- Lead GSE team in all aspects of GSE business group.
- The ability to operate and diagnostic equipment.
- The ability to read schematics (electrical air hydraulic).

- AC/Heat cart

- Lower deck loader
- Main deck loader
- Hydrant cart (narrow and wide body)
- Refuel tanker (all size and fuel types)
- Deicers
- Cater truck
- Hi lift truck
- Hydrant truck
- Towbarless push back
- Transport trailer (fuel and cargo)

You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information training and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. What we are looking for:
- Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency preferably supplemented with college-level courses in diesel mechanic.
- Certification from a recognized program preferred.
- Experience operating diagnostic equipment.
- Five years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair in an industrial vehicle operation including one year in an administrative or Leadership capacity.
- Must be able to maximize fleet utilization and ensure maximum shop productivity.
- Must be able to lift continually up to 70lbs
- Must pass a drug test and a federal background check
- Must have own tools
- Requires a Valid Drivers License.
