About the role
Perform laboratory testing across Haematology Morphology Haemostasis and Transfusion Medicine ensuring accuracy efficiency and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Manage laboratory equipment monitor quality control and ensure adequate supplies to support continuous and reliable diagnostic services.
Communicate critical and urgent results promptly to clinicians and relevant departments to support effective patient care.
Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team providing supervision and training to junior staff as required.
Participate in ongoing professional development scientific/educational sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
Bachelors degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent with relevant coursework in Haematology and Immunology from a recognised tertiary institution.
Recent hands-on experience in Haematology Haemostasis and Transfusion Medicine with working knowledge of laboratory IT systems and workflows.
Actively engaged in continuing professional development (CPD) demonstrating a proactive approach to maintaining and advancing professional competence.
Proven ability to work both autonomously and effectively within a multidisciplinary team adapting confidently to a variety of clinical environments and responsibilities.
Strong personal integrity and a demonstrated commitment to the Mission Vision and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincents Health Australia reflecting a dedication to compassionate patient-centred care.
