The Opportunity:
This is an internal opportunity open to all current regular probationary and limited duration employees of Multnomah County who are in paid status on approved leave or on an active recall list. This Limited Duration ADA Accommodations Analyst (Human Resources Analyst 2) assignment will be a part of the County Central Human Resources working within the Benefits Office on the new ADA Team who support protect and serve the community every day. As part of the Benefits Office you serve all at the County as we believe their health matters!

You are an administrative support professional well versed in performing the interactive Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) process. Youre able to communicate clearly and effectively use tact and diplomacy with all individuals and can maintain confidentiality. You are a team player who is able to work independently and takes initiative to keep operations flowing smoothly. You provide excellent customer service and enjoy assisting others. You are organized and make sure the small details are addressed. You work effectively within a diverse workgroup that fosters a commitment to equity inclusion and diversity that provides a sense of safety trust and belonging for all. Youre able to work with independent discretion judgment and initiative governed by departmental and County objectives and policy guidelines. This detail-oriented position serves as one of the ADA team members.
Essential Job Functions:
County Americans With Disabilities Act Accommodation
Apply informed judgment to administer ADA accommodations
Maintain employees confidential medical files and protected health information (PHI) in accordance with requirements set forth by the Multnomah County privacy office
Interpret understand and follow state and federal laws governing ADA accommodations as well as county policies and guidelines
Provide training in partnership with the Office of Diversity and Equity around ADA policy and practices at the county
Facilitate the interactive processes for ADA gather information research analyze and resolve requests
Communicate with the employee throughout the process as well as their manager regarding their direct report
Consult with the Labor Relations and County Attorneys Offices regarding hardship requests as required
Liaise with The Standard Workplace Possibilities and the States Stay-at-Work programs for ongoing employee cases requiring ergonomic and equipment needs as part of a request for workplace accommodation
Serve on the Countys Employee Accommodations Workgroup to implement improvements to the Countys ADA accommodations process and employee experience
Stay informed and trained on changes to ADA/ADAA and involved in communities of practice and provide process recommendations as a result of ADA/ADAA changes
Refer employees to potential workplace accommodation and guide them on how to enter into the interactive process under the ADA/ADAA
Understand the role of and collaborate with Leave Administration Department HR Risk and Workers Compensation as well as with Labor Relations and the County Attorneys Office in accommodation reviews and implementation
Maintain countywide training content and delivery in collaboration with the Office of Diversity and Equitys ADA liaison
Ensure accurate data entry into Workday for ADA accommodations review and implementation
Generate information and reporting out of Workday and personnel files as necessary related to accommodations
Collaborate with third party ADA consultants on best practice ADA recommendations

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Bachelors degree or experience may substitute for a degree
1-2 years experience in administering ADA accommodations

However keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. More than 2 years of experience in administering ADA accommodations
Experience administering ADA accommodations in a union environment
Advanced spreadsheet experience (Microsoft Excel)

Hybrid Telework: This position is designated as hybrid telework meaning you will be working both remotely (from home) and in person at an onsite location. The designation of Hybrid Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. The onsite work location for this position is the Multnomah Building @ 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Portland OR 97214.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; Monday/Friday are remote and Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday are onsite. There may be some flexibility with daily start and end times.

Serving the Public Even During Disasters
Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
