Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatric Emergency Department (ED)
Location Syracuse NY13210
Schedule: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM including every other weekend and some holidays
Job Summary
Seeking night shift RNs for Pediatric ED. Candidates must have the majority of experience in Pediatric ED; Adult ED experience is a plus. Experience solely in combined Adult/Pediatric EDs will not be considered. Level 1 or 2 trauma experience and EPIC EMR experience are preferred. Candidates must have strong triage skills and formal triage training.
Key Responsibilities
Perform majority of patient care skills in an acute care pediatric ED setting.
Conduct thorough nursing assessments with minimal orientation and supervision.
Apply trauma and pediatric emergency care knowledge in high-acuity situations.
Document care accurately using electronic medical records (EPIC preferred).
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
Required Qualifications
Current New York State RN license.
BLS certification (AHA) with ability to be recertified.
Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ED experience in an acute care facility of similar size and level.
Formal pediatric triage training.
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TCRN certification.
Travelers considered only if experienced in hospitals of equal or greater size or trauma center level.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
No prior professional license or certification suspensions investigations or professional liability claims.
Verification of legal right to work in the U.S.
Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance drug screening and criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Level 1 trauma hospital experience.
EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience.
Adult ED experience in addition to Pediatric ED.
Skills & Experience Summary (Converted from Table)
Pediatric Emergency Care Experience: Required minimum 2 years.
Pediatric Triage Trained: Required minimum 1 year.
Level 1 trauma hospital experience: Highly desired.
EPIC experience: Highly desired.
TNCC or TCRN: Required.
