Salary Range of $55000 - $65000 annually
SUMMARY:
The investigator is responsible for conducting internal investigations on behalf of the University concerning alleged violations of University and TAMUS policy discrimination harassment sexual misconduct Title IX violations as well as other employee relations and student conduct matters. This may include allegations of sexual assault dating violence domestic violence stalking and hazing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The investigator is responsible for conducting internal investigations on behalf of the University concerning alleged violations of University and TAMUS policy discrimination harassment sexual misconduct Title IX violations as well as other employee relations and student conduct matters. This may include allegations of sexual assault dating violence domestic violence stalking and hazing.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts investigations of formal complaints against students faculty and staff with allegations of discrimination sexual misconduct sexual harassment gender-related violence including stalking dating or domestic violence and any sex-based discrimination harassment and/or related retaliation.
- Conduct interviews reviews documentation and writes investigative reports with the assistance of an employee volunteer investigator.
- Acts as an impartial and unbiased factfinder to conduct and manage prompt thorough investigations in accordance with Texas A&M University System Regulation 08.01.01 and related TAMUC rules.
- Assists with investigations of allegations under Ethics & Compliance Student Rights & Responsibilities and Human Resources.
- Collaborate and consult with the Civil Rights Administrator/Title IX Coordinator regularly to monitor and manage Title IX incidents to ensure an efficient and effective response to reports and complaints.
- Assist Civil Rights Administrator/Title IX Coordinator with the development implementation and maintenance of a case management database to organize manage and track all Title IX and Civil Rights incidents.
- Assists with the education training and recruitment of employee volunteer investigator team.
- Works closely with the Civil Rights Administrator/Title IX Coordinator Deputy Title IX Coordinators Student Rights & Responsibilities Human Resources Ethics & Compliance Office TAMUS Office of the General Counsel and System Ethics & Compliance Office.
- Maintains accurate and thorough records and notes of the Investigatory process.
- Ensure a prompt impartial well-documented Title IX or other compliance investigative process. Create comprehensive written investigative reports for the Coordinator that clearly identify the issues investigated summarize the evidence make findings under University policy and recommend appropriate remedial steps.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience/ Knowledge/ Skills: Two years of related experience.
- Ability to: Ability to evaluate and manage highly sensitive and confidential situations. Develop and maintain effective collaborative working relationships. Create clearly written comprehensive investigative reports.

- Other Requirements: Must have exceptional organization skills including the ability to handle a significant caseload and manage multiple deadlines.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Masters degree or Juris Doctorate
- Experience investigating harassment discrimination sexual misconduct and sexual violence complaints in a higher education setting.
- Superb written and oral communication skills including skill in writing concise logical and analytical reports to convey complex issues.
- Excellent critical thinking skills including the demonstrated ability to analyze information evaluate results and facilitate resolution of difficult challenges while maintaining strict confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Ability to produce high quality work products with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills including the demonstrated ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for individual needs. Ability to maintain neutrality and work under stress.
- Working knowledge of nondiscrimination laws and compliance regulations including Title VI Title VII Title IX the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Clery Act and VAWA.
