Job Summary
Amazon is seeking a Tax Analyst to join the Canada Indirect Tax team in Hyderabad India. The Amazon Tax Department is a fast-paced team-focused and dynamic environment. This position will be primarily responsible for supporting Canadian indirect tax audits as well as related indirect tax projects.
While this role reports directly to the Head of Canada Indirect Tax you will work most closely withe the Canada Indirect Tax Audit team leader.
Key job responsibilities
- Prepare and review responses to audit inquiries
- Retrieve and analyze data and supporting documentation responsive to audits and information requests
- Collaborate with business and technical teams on process improvement initiatives
A day in the life
The Canada Indirect Tax Audit team part of the Canada Indirect Tax team manages all Canadian indirect tax audit platform reporting and information request matters for Amazon.
About the team
The Canada Indirect Tax team supports all businesses across Amazon with launching new features and products. We also handle all Canadian indirect tax audits for all Amazon businesses.
We develop meaningful relationships with our business partners and other key stakeholders and help find novel creative and innovative solutions to complex issues.
We love common sense and a good sense of humour. While our team members love to laugh together we are also able to work independently while demonstrating sound judgement.
We think strategically but are also effective at tactical execution. We are flexible and adapt quickly to change.
- Bachelors degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- Knowledge of at least one data-focused technology tool such as Python SQL Alteryx Amazon QuickSight or similar
- Self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks and independently define implement and manage creation of new processes
- Critical thinking and common sense
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgement calls
- Strategic thinking with the the ability to execute at a tactical level
- Effective project management and communication skills
