We are looking for a proactive Legal Counsel who thrives on both autonomy and collaboration to support our dynamic digital media business in the US and EMEA markets. You will work directly with a diverse group of teamsfrom creative content production Finance and ITnavigating and solving business challenges with a high degree of independence.
Beyond supporting these individual teams you will also collaborate closely with other counsels to support Group-wide objectives and ensure we are proactively managing business risks. Your legal expertise will be key to drafting and negotiating high-stakes contracts providing counsel on commercial and marketing regulations and conducting essential due diligence. We are looking for a self-starter who can expertly prioritize competing needs and be a strong team player in a role that is professionally challenging and highly rewarding.
Reporting to the Legal Director you will serve as a key legal advisor providing strategic risk-based counsel with a strong commercial focus. Youll be the primary point of contact for our business teams in designated regions offering critical legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial transactions. Your mission is to proactively identify and mitigate legal risks ensuring our business activities are always within our corporate risk framework.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Advisory: Provide strategic legal advice and recommendations to a wide range of business units and support functions including finance media and production.
Operational Excellence: Develop best practices for key business operations including vendor management due diligence and adherence to industry standards.
Marketing & Advertising: Support all marketing-related activities by conducting legal research and examining cross-border advertising requirements to ensure our content is distributed compliantly across all jurisdictions.
Group Collaboration: Work closely with other counsels to continuously monitor risks and enhance our group-wide risk mitigation strategies and overall impact.
General Counsel Support: Assist with matters related to disputes insurance and real estate and tackle other special projects as they arise.
Professional Development:
Remain up-to-date on all relevant legal industry requirements and regulations to ensure our practices are always current and compliant.
Requirements:
Qualified lawyer admitted in Hong Kong or a Commonwealth jurisdiction (preferably England and Wales) and holds a current practising certificate or is a member in good standing of the New York Bar.
3 - 6 years PQE with at least 1 year of relevant experience as an in-house counsel.
Experience in civil litigation and/or commercial dispute preferred.
Strong drafting skills with attentiveness to detail.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) legal advice with diverse stakeholders with practical thinking and a commercially sensible risk-based approach to achieve solutions.
Ability to work swiftly and accurately under pressure and time constraints.
Commitment to handle matters with integrity care respect and confidentiality.
Strong sense of teamwork in maintaining legal integrity and transparency.
