About the employer

Here at Little Scallywags - we are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice looking to complete their level 3 early years educator apprenticeship to join our small & friendly team at Little Scallywags.

Little Scallywags Day Nurseries consists of seven settings around the Birmingham and Staffordshire area. The nurseries are a family run business and benefit from the skills and experience of a strong management team including nursing qualified teacher status and family support.

About the Role

Key details:

Hours:Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm 40 hours per week
Wage:7.55 per hour

Apprenticeship Standard:Level 3 Early Years Educator
Duration:19 months

Overview of the role:

As a key part of the team you will be responsible for supporting the education and development of your key children through quality of teaching and learning.

Responsibilities:

Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the nursery
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to stimulate childrens development
Monitor and observe children to ensure their well-being and safety
Collaborate with other nursery staff to create a positive learning environment
Maintain accurate records of childrens progress and development
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their childs daily activities and progress

Apprenticeship Summary:

You will work towards your Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification across a total duration of 19 months!
Training provider:LMP Group: online/remote learning no classroom or college day release
An allocated tutor will support you throughout the apprenticeship!

Candidate Requirements

Skills & Personal Qualities Required:

Experience working with young children in a nursery or childcare setting
Ability to engage and interact with children in a positive and supportive manner
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Patience empathy and a genuine love for working with children
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Qualifications Required:

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) - Essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) - Essential
Level 2 Early Years practitioner qualification or equivalent - Preferred
