We are currently looking to hirea 0.6 - 1.0 FTE probationary contract mathematics/science teacher who wants to work in a collaborative supportive and inclusive team environment. We embrace the concept ofsmaller mixed grade classes that respects Indigenous and non-indigenous students as individual learners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging learning opportunities that align with the curriculum and Charter goals
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Foster students personal growth confidence and self-esteem through culturally relevant teaching practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues parents and the community to support student learning and well-being.
- Assess and monitor student progress providing constructive feedback and support.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of Indigenous education.
- Bachelors degree in Education.
- Teaching certification in Alberta or ability to attain.
- Experience or training in teaching mathematics and science
- Experience and or training in working with multigrade classrooms.
- Experience in Indigenous education and familiarity with Indigenous pedagogies is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
