Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Daily consultation risk identification and mitigation:

  • Act as the Compliance business partner of the Business Unit drive proactive compliance leadership and engagement to ensure that business colleagues are responsible for compliance with policies processes controls and other initiatives.
  • Embedding Compliance into business by joining business meetings to understand business challenges advice business team for daily consultation proactively identify risks and work together with business team and Compliance team for practicable solutions and mitigation measures if needed.
  • Develop metrics and dashboards in coordination with global and China Compliance team to provide leadership with appropriate indicators of compliance health.
  • Review and improve current internal process to ensure compliance risks are properly identified and mitigated at the same time the internal process is simple and helpful.
  • Together with China CCO and business leadership support the regional Compliance Review Board (CRB) to drive real-time and relevant discussions of compliance topics risks mitigations and program efforts and ensure any sub-regional/zone CRBs are held with appropriate cadence.
  • Coordinate with global compliance leadership to implement business risk assessment initiatives and drive mitigation plans arising therefrom including reviewing and addressing remote site risks by creating awareness through employee engagement efforts monitoring concerns and assessing operations at these sites.

Compliance culture policy communication and training:

  • Support business leadership in driving the open reporting program and conducting risk roll-up discussions with employees to drive the compliance culture.
  • Lead or support the training to the business on GEs Spirit & Letter and other global regional and business policies and procedures.
  • Together with global compliance team develop relevant and timely compliance communications and trainings to embed the program in day-to-day activities.
  • Support global compliance team to launch policies and ensure local policies are consistent with global policies.

Enforcement monitoring and mitigation:

  • Monitor internal and external compliance trends including compliance initiatives industry compliance failures and applicable industry specific regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with IMT team to support GE Healthcares open reporting system assisting with investigations as required and ensuring appropriate remediation actions are taken.
  • Coordinate with the global compliance team and relevant business owners to support regular monitoring and audits of compliance areas and support driving requisite improvements/resolutions for issues identified including identification of trends and conducting root cause analysis of issues.
  • Identify and resolve compliance-related procedural issues and areas of improvement and ensure remediation actions plans are established implemented and tracked through to closure.

Other priorities:

  • Coordinate with global compliance leaders and other region compliance leads to roll-out and implement compliance priorities.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be identified by the China CCO or business from time-to-time.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of 12 years professional experience in compliance risk mitigation investigations audit operational and/or other relevant assurance areas preferably with a multi-national life sciences or healthcare company.
  • Knowledge of and experience with compliance issues such as: anti-corruption/Foreign Corrupt Practices Act third party compliance anti-money laundering controllership conflict of interest dealer management and supplier relationships.
  • Expertise in working with local medical device or pharmaceutical industry codes.
  • Strong business acumen ability to detect emerging compliance and industry trends and develop appropriate responses.
  • Track record of strong project management capability.
  • Previous experience in: (a) identifying and resolving compliance issues quickly and effectively; (b) ability to make timely and informed management calls with proven ability to drive operational excellence; and (c) developing and implementing compliance policies processes and procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-function collaboration while continuing to be business partners and lead change.
  • Ability to influence senior management to drive sustainable cultural and organizational change.
  • Strong grasp of The Spirit & The Letter business ethics policies and current compliance practices and relevant industry standards.
  • Experience in leading or assisting critical investigations including implementation of corrective actions.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and to facilitate risk-assessment and decision-making.
  • Unquestioned integrity and ethics in business and personal conduct.
  • Demonstrable verbal and written fluency in English.
  • Superior communication skills inter-personal skills mature judgment and independent thinking.
