Instructional Designer
The Instructional Designer is responsible for providing on-site instructional design services. Using the ADDIE framework the Instructional Designer will analyze training needs design effective learning solutions and ensure deliverables are aligned with adult learning principles and organizational performance objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct stakeholder interviews focus groups task analyses and learner analyses
- Identify training gaps define measurable learning objectives and establish success criteria
- Design instructional strategies course outlines content maps and storyboards aligned with adult learning principles
- Develop training modules assessments multimedia assets and evaluation tools (e-learning instructor-led and hybrid formats)
- Support training deployment and delivery through LMS platforms and train-the-trainer support
- Conduct Level 1 & Level 2 evaluations analyze results and recommend improvements
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Bachelors degree in a related field required
- 10 years of experience in Instructional Systems Design
- Experience designing learning experiences that emphasize performance and task application over theory
- Familiarity with Kirkpatrick Training Evaluation (Levels 14); required to apply systems-level thinking at the position level
- Proven ability to collaborate with SMEs project managers and stakeholders in fast-paced environments
- Experience in job task analysis
- Prior Military/DOD or Wildland Fire experience preferred
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Citizenship is a requirement for a Public Trust clearance at this location.
