Job Summary and Responsibilities
Mercy General Hospital was established over 100 years ago as Sacramentos first hospital and has been providing surgical services for over 45 years. The Perioperative program is one of the largest in Northern California with a pioneering spirit among an experienced and dedicated team of professionals.
The Surgical Services at Mercy General Hospital demands a very high level of technical skills team work and organization. The perioperative program is high volume in open and hybrid procedures. We have a large population of orthopedic and spine patient population are an accredited orthopedic and spine Center of Excellence. Nurses in our perioperative setting are able to work with the latest technology in surgical advances including robotic assisted 2021 Mercy General was awarded the Robotic Center of Excellence. The RNs function with a high degree of autonomy and deliver exceptional standards of care producing some of the best clinical outcomes in the state. Mercy General made the35 top hospitals for cardiac surgery and ranked 3rdin the state of California HealthGrades (2022).
Many registered nurses and OR Techs are attracted to our ORs for cutting edge procedures with a high level of procedural experience required by many advanced practice programs. At Mercy General Hospital you will develop the skill set to manage very acute and complex surgical patients.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse in a operating room or cardiac surgery unit in an acute care setting.
- Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current BLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
