Duration: 17-week assignment
Pay Rate: $50 $55/hour
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) Neuroscience Ambulatory Care provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions in an outpatient clinic setting. This role involves close collaboration with neurologists neurosurgeons advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient-centered care focused on assessment education treatment support and care coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care in a neuroscience outpatient/ambulatory clinic setting
Perform neurological assessments and monitor patient status during clinic visits
Triage patient symptoms concerns and phone inquiries; escalate care as appropriate
Administer medications injections and infusions per provider orders and protocols
Assist with in-office neurological procedures and diagnostic testing
Educate patients and families on neurological conditions treatment plans medications and follow-up care
Coordinate referrals prior authorizations and follow-up appointments
Accurately document assessments interventions and patient education in the EMR (EPIC preferred)
Collaborate with physicians advanced practice providers medical assistants and administrative staff
Ensure adherence to infection control standards safety guidelines and clinic policies
Maintain a clean safe and organized clinical environment
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic workflow optimization
Perform additional ambulatory nursing duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
Ambulatory outpatient or clinic nursing experience
Strong assessment triage and patient education skills
Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced clinic environment
Experience with EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
Preferred Experience
Neuroscience neurology or neurosurgery experience
Experience managing chronic neurological conditions such as MS epilepsy Parkinsons disease or stroke follow-up
Licensure & Certifications
Active New Jersey RN License or Compact License
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
