*Lead teacher - Infant Classroom (1 year to approximately 18 months).
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00PM
Summary:
Creates and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum on a daily basis.
Acts as an immediate supervisor and teaching role model in the classroom.
Provides a loving caring and safe environment in which children can learn and play as an integral part of Child Development Center (CDC) team which supports Virtua employees by caring for their dependents enabling them to have peace of mind in their day to day duties.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching - Supervises children indoors and outdoors providing positive conflict resolution techniques according to NAEYC standards. Participates in all developmentally appropriate teacher directed activities (circle time and learning centers.)
Planning - Plans prepares supervises and carries out age appropriate activities and uses time appropriately. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development of the specific age group he/she teaches. Does all in accordance with NAEYC standards.
Relationships - Ensures open positive and effective communication with administration staff members parents and all Virtua clientele while maintaining confidentiality. Handles and reports all parent and staff concerns that are within their control.
Supervising - Models professional demeanor while effectively supervising and utilizing the supporting staff within their classroom.
Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of classroom playground and center.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
2 or more years of formal experience in child care setting is required.
2 years teaching experience in a child care center preferred.
Required Education:
2 years of formal Early Childhood courses required.
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education is preferred.
OR: BA in Child Development Elementary Education or related fields with a minimum of 2 years practical experience in an acceptable preschool.
Training/Certifications/Licensure:
CDA (Child Development Credential) or CCP (ChildCare Professional Certificate) or equivalent experience (see Required Experience).
