Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join their dynamic multi-specialty group in Ann Arbor and Livonia Michigan providing exceptional care in the neonatal intensive care unit under the supervision of attending pediatricians.


Job Description:

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) will:
Function as the primary mid-level provider for newborn patients under attending pediatrician supervision.
Assess plan and evaluate medical care for neonates.
Report findings and document in a problem-oriented manner.
Order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays as needed.
Write orders for medications IV therapy parenteral nutrition blood products admissions transfers and discharges.
Attend high-risk deliveries perform resuscitation and stabilize newborns.
Conduct transports independently to transfer newborns between hospital systems including NICUs.
Provide newborn care resuscitation and stabilization for all deliveries as required.
Serve as a consultant to administrative nursing and medical staff.
Lead and participate in nursing education and competency assessments related to neonatal care.
Submit appropriate billing in a timely manner.
Engage in continuous self-development via readings lectures and formal education.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy development in the Family Birthing Center (NICU Labor & Delivery Mother/Baby Unit).
Act as a role model and resource for peers physicians and nursing staff.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
Promote workplace safety and report hazards immediately.

Successful completion of an accredited NNP program
Experience in a NICU for a minimum of two years
Not accepting visa candidates
Not accepting Locums providers

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
BLS
Board Certified
NRP

STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Michigan

ADDITIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of an accredited NNP program Minimum 2 years NICU experience
