The Role
To provide administrative support to ensure the operational aspects of the PSRC are managed and carried out effectively. You will provide comprehensive professional support to the Director the External Scientific Advisory Group (ESAG) the PSRC Management Group the Academic Career Development Group the Public Partnership Advisory Group and the four Theme Leads. You will be based within the School of Pharmacy and will work within their policies and procedures where possible and will have a key outward facing role in supporting the PSRC.
As a senior Professional Service leader have collective responsibility for the vision of the Faculty fostering a culture of service excellence. This role is fixed term until 31 March 2028.

- You will provide professional administrative support to the Director and four Theme Leads as part of the PSRC (Transforming care and improving safety for patients with multiple long-term health conditions (MLTCs)). This will include implementing administrative support structures for the Director and theme leads to maximise quality efficiency and continuity of the PSRCs work and identifying recommending and implementing improvements
- Act as the main point of contact for all parties involved in the project on a day-to- day basis communicating clearly with investigators project teams collaborators and stakeholders and University professional services staff
- You will manage the budget and provide effective financial management in support of the PSRC activity including developing processes to report to the PSRC funder (NIHR) and provide information relating to the PSRC for the Director by liaising with theme leads and putting information into a format suitable for NIHR reporting purposes
- Manage the project finances including: forecasting; liaison with the Universitys Contract Financial Management Team to ensure financial transactions and reporting are managed in line with the contract; and holding regular meetings with project/theme leads to ensure effective budget management
- Working flexibly to support the patient public involvement and engagement (PPIE) engagement strategy for the PSRC ensuring cooperative and effective relationships are maintained and that the objectives of the strategy are met
- Manage the capture reporting and dissemination of regular feedback from PSRC events to ensure continuous improvement and ongoing interest and participation
- Provide line management of the administrator employed to support the PSRC activity including recruitment induction performance management and training and development
The Person (Essential)
Knowledge Skills and Experience
- Experience of working in an administration/ project management role with significant responsibility
- Planning and progressing work within general guidelines using initiative and judgement without recourse to senior staff
- Excellent financial management and budget monitoring skills
- Experience of negotiating with a range of staff in other organisations
- Excellent IT skills including competent use of Microsoft Office particularly for the purposes of data management manipulation and reporting
- Experience of staff management
- Initiative and a creative approach to problem solving

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent level qualification plus experience in a similar role or significant vocational experience demonstrating development through progressively more demanding relevant roles
