Job Summary

Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Permanent Role)

Location: San Angelo TX 76903

Shift: 06:30 AM - 03:30 PM

Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)

Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Essential Functions:

Perform high-quality imaging procedures as per exam protocols in a timely manner.
Understand and monitor radiation dose levels; take action when dose reference levels are exceeded including patient follow-up if necessary.
Utilize AIDET (Acknowledge Introduce Duration Explanation Thank You) in patient communications to ensure quality service and comfort.
Instruct and communicate with patients and families regarding procedures and assess the patients ability to tolerate exams.
Prepare patients and equipment for procedures by positioning the patient using immobilization devices and adjusting controls to set exposure factors.
Adhere to all safety infection control drug and radiation protocols.
Maintain sterile techniques during invasive procedures and follow all hand hygiene protocols.
Keep equipment and work area clean and operational; collaborate with engineers and physicists to ensure equipment performance.
Report equipment or supply issues to management.
Help maintain inventory of necessary supplies.

Ability to serve as a preceptor and train new team members on protocols and equipment.

Qualifications:

Certification/license in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
New graduates accepted; on-the-job training and mentorship provided.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
