Job Summary

Position Title: VMware & Hyper-v Administaror L2

Location : Pune (Onsite)

Job Type : Contract to Hire

Position Summary/Job Discription: We are seeking a skilled Hyper-V & VMware L2 Administrator responsible for the day-to-day administration support and troubleshooting of VMware infrastructure environments. The candidate should have hands-on experience with vSphere components and a strong understanding of virtualized environments ESXi hosts vCenter storage networking and patch management.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Perform daily health checks and operational support for VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter Servers
Monitor and manage virtual machines (VMs) templates snapshots and VM tools
Troubleshoot and resolve L2-level issues related to compute storage and network within VMware environments
VAPT Mitigation on ESXi hypervisor .
Server hardware Management (Dell HP Etc)
Manage vSphere cluster configurations including DRS HA and vMotion
Perform VM provisioning cloning and migration
Apply security patches ESXi updates and firmware using vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM)
Maintain host profiles and ensure configuration consistency across the cluster
Coordinate with storage backup and network teams for integrated troubleshooting
Maintain system documentation asset records and change logs
Escalate unresolved issues to L3 or vendor support as needed
Support disaster recovery (DR) procedures and participate in DR drills
Adhere to change management processes and ITIL best practices
Create and maintain technical documentation SOPs and knowledge base articles.
Create and manage Standard Switches and Distributed Virtual Switches within the vSphere cluster
Template creation modification and hardening
Responsible for creating modifying and hardening virtual machine templates for secure and standardized deployments.
Server Deployment and Configuration:Install configure and maintain Windows server operating systems ()
Server Deployment and Configuration:Install configure and maintain Linux operating systems (Linux (RHEL CentOS Ubuntu)
Deploy and manage virtual machines using technologies like Hyper-V or VMware
Configure server roles features and services based on organizational requirements
Monitor and optimize virtual machine performance including server health resource utilization and overall availability
Implement proactive measures to optimize server performance and scalability
Diagnose and resolve complex VM-related issues including system crashes resource contention and performance bottlenecks
Backup and Recovery:Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Windows servers and
Perform regular backups and ensure the integrity and availability of server data
Expertise in Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
Experience with VMware Hyper-V and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
Ensure compliance with security policies hardening guidelines and audit requirements.
Work on incident response and mitigation of security threats
Mitigatigation of the VMware vSphere environment related VAPT task

Essential Qualifications: Any IT graduate ( BCA/MCABSc/MSc(IT)BEBTech

Requisite Skills:

1. Technical :

Demonstrated proficiency in VMware administration providing Level 3 (L3) support in enterprise environments
Proficiency in Windows Server () and Linux (RHEL CentOS Ubuntu) deployment via template .
Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware Hyper-V).
NIC Teaming and configuration in Hyper-V
Networking configuration for Windows Hyper-V Solution
Monitoring and troubleshooting in Windows Hyper-V
iSCSI and Fibre Channel integration for Windows Hyper-V
Understanding for end to end connectivity for Windows Hyper-V
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP DNS DHCP).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficient in VMware Level 2 (L2) Support to ensure effective incident resolution and operational excellence
MS Office- Excel word and Power point
Strong understanding of system security principles including patch management access control and vulnerability management.
Familiarity with OS architecture and underlying system components.
Experience with server backups disaster recovery procedures and high availability.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Industry certifications like VMware Certified Professional (VCP) VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or Azure Administrator (AZ-104) are a plus.
ITIL Foundation Preferred
