Internal Medicine Genetic Environmental and Inhalational DiseaseJob Duties:
Conduct cell culture and rodent-based experiments.
Compile analyze document and draw tentative conclusions from experimental results.
Confer with principal investigator to review work assignments and develop plans for research experiments.
Make minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques to meet the needs of the equipment as required.
Review laboratory methods manual scientific journals abstracts and other literature for information applicable to research experiments.
Perform routine laboratory techniques and support laboratory operations (general laboratory duties inventory laboratory safety regulatory and compliance).
Maintenance of adequate lab supplies reagents and chemicals for daily research procedures.
Perform specimen processing biobanking and shipments.
Perform collaborative studies with other research laboratories at KUMC.
Perform PCR Western blot primary cell isolation general tissue culture.
Maintain a current Laboratory Notebook documenting all calculations procedures results and other relevant research information.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline. Experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.

Work Experience
Direct laboratory experience in basic cell and molecular biology methods which includes but not limited to DNA/RNA manipulation PCR qPCR immunodetection (IHC/IF/western blotting) immunoprecipitation microscopy and CRISPRs/siRNA/shRNA.
Experience working with rodents.
Skills:

At the University of Kansas Medical Center a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
