Job Summary
Job Description:
A Fuel Attendant is responsible for dispensing fuel providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and safe forecourt environment. The role includes handling cash/card payments performing basic vehicle checks and adhering to all safety protocols related to fuel station operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers politely and offer assistance when needed.
Dispense petrol diesel and other fuel products accurately and safely.
Operate fuel pumps and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
Accept cash and card payments give correct change and issue receipts.
Perform basic vehicle checks (oil water tire pressure) upon request.
Clean windshields and check fluid levels if requested.
Maintain cleanliness of the forecourt fuel pumps and surrounding areas.
Report fuel spills equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Follow health and safety regulations including fire prevention measures.
Assist in restocking shelves in the stations convenience store (if applicable).
Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors.
Uphold the companys standards for customer service and professionalism.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school certificate or equivalent (Grade 10 or Matric preferred).
Previous experience in retail customer service or fuel stations is an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic numeracy and cash-handling ability.
Ability to work shifts weekends and public holidays.
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance (advantageous).
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
