Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager Technical to lead the core planning experience of our enterprise-wide workforce planning transformation initiative. This role will drive the strategy governance and execution of sophisticated planning solutions that enable data-driven workforce decisions across Amazons global operations.


Key job responsibilities
Design and implement comprehensive workforce analytics solutions that drive operational excellence and business outcomes.
Lead the development of innovative planning technologies that unify headcount planning skill forecasting and resource allocation.
Own the workforce planning strategy and technology roadmap including partnering with science teams to create forecasting models capacity planning capabilities and resource optimization tools.
Build and scale operational frameworks for enterprise-wide workforce planning governance and execution.
Partner with senior leadership to align workforce planning initiatives with business strategies and financial planning cycles (OP1/2 QBRs).
Drive cross-functional collaboration across Business Finance Engineering and People Experience & Technology (PXT) teams.
Develop and implement success metrics and mechanisms to measure planning effectiveness and business impact.
Lead and mentor a team of workforce planning professionals fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

- Bachelors degree in Business Analytics Computer Science or related field.
- 7 years of technical product management or analytics experience.
- 5 years of workforce planning or workforce management experience.
- Proven track record of building and scaling enterprise planning systems.
- Experience leading complex data-driven planning initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on operational excellence.
- Excellence in stakeholder management and executive communication.

- MBA or advanced degree.
- Deep expertise in workforce planning methodologies and best practices.
- Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics.
- Experience with agile development and product launch methodologies.
- Experience with workforce planning HR tech or similar enterprise planning systems.
- Understanding of financial planning processes and systems.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
