Ko tōu ake mahi - What youll do
As an Advisor youll play a key part in supporting the Ministrys legislative and regulatory responsibilities for individuals under compulsory care. Youll produce high-quality reports manage statutory processes and provide trusted advice to senior leaders. This is a great opportunity to work across the Ministry and with external partners contributing to the protection of human rights and the delivery of effective services.
Contribute to statutory processes including the development of reports guidelines templates and regulatory standards.
Monitor service providers review and summarise reports and engage with providers to support effective service delivery.
Prepare regulatory briefings covering leave and legal status of individuals under compulsory care ensuring compliance and safeguarding rights.
Handle sensitive material with care manage confronting and highly personal information with professionalism and discretion.
Support ministerial and parliamentary work draft correspondence respond to questions and prepare briefings and information requests.

An interest in mental health human rights and the law
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and filter complex information.
An ability to interpret and apply legislation and statutory processes and knowing how they can be implemented effectively
Understanding the role and tools of a regulator
