Job Description

Your mission

Your mission is to protect and strengthen the organization in an increasingly complex fast changing and high demanding environment.

As Head of Corporate Risk & Crisis Management you will have final responsibility for overseeing and developing risk and crisis management within the Lineas Group organization (companywide for all countries). You will have a helicopter view across the various departments with a strong focus on key (operational financial commercial IT/cyber) risks corporate compliance risks and business liabilities. Additionally you will strengthen and own the overall emergency preparedness and response process.

You will be in charge to foster a culture of and awareness about risk management and to put in place a systemic approach for risk management (governance process and tool).
You play a crucial role in challenging and when needed correcting front-line risk management by forming an independent opinion on the desired risk profile and the implemented risk management addition your role consists of providing advice and expertise in measuring risks determining CRIs and establishing risk appetite. Together with the Director Safety Health & Compliance you report periodically to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on the major risks their evolution over time and the linked mitigation actions.

In terms of crisis management you will develop business continuity plans following different crisis scenarios coordinate with the various countries and teams implement and supervise awareness-raising and training monitor the implementation of the process and act as the central point of contact in the event of serious emergencies.

You fulfil the role of corporate Compliance Officer (CO) for the subsidiaries of the Group where this role is legally needed.

You will work closely with and report to the Director of Safety Health & Compliance and other senior stakeholders to identify risks in a timely manner and implement the appropriate measures.

Your tasks

  • You develop the overall risk management governance process and culture within the company identifying and assessing the key risks within the different departments assuring the coordination of risk management (mitigation) measures and the follow-up of the entire process.
  • You strengthen the crisis management by reviewing and developing emergency preparedness and response process on both corporate level and country level
  • You develop business continuity plans following different scenarios coordinate with the various countries and teams provide awareness-raising and training and monitor the implementation of the process
  • You structure document and update the linked processes procedures and work instructions in ARIS. Set-up of a periodic reporting governance for the different stakeholders (incl. towards the ELT).
  • You define risk appetite and CRIs (critical risk indicators) for data reporting follow-up and managerial steering/acting
  • As CO for the subsidiaries of the Group where this role is legally needed you coordinate the implementation and the monitoring of the specific legal requirements (other than RU related Regulation & Legislation) and related compliance risks with the concerned departments and domain experts. Report and handle accordingly significant compliance incidents that require action or give rise to particular suspicions to the Management Board of the subsidiary. The compliance related to RU (railway undertaking) related Regulation & Legislation remains with the Compliance Coordinators

Your profile

  • You hold a bachelors or masters degree in economics business administration finance law or (safety) engineering.
  • You bring 35 years of relevant experience in risk management crisis management safety or business continuity.
  • You have solid knowledge of risk management and regulations
  • You are comfortable with data analysis risk tools and have a good financial understanding.
  • You think analytically and strategically with a strong problem-solving mindset.
  • You communicate clearly and persuasively and can make complex topics easy to understand.
  • You show leadership by setting direction motivating teams and making sound decisions.
  • You are flexible resilient and results-driven.
  • You act with integrity are customer-oriented and build strong relationships.
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch and/or French. German is a plus
