About the role

  • Work within the Alcohol Drug Service and provide culturally sensitive care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people accessing St Vincents Hospital inpatient and outpatient Alcohol and Drug services

  • Work closely with patients and their families

  • Assist staff to provide culturally safe and respectful care to Aboriginal patients and families

  • Liaise with key community organisations particularly Aboriginal Community groups and services

About you

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

  • Experience in engaging with Aboriginal people in a health care setting

  • Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health needs

  • Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues and harm reduction principles

  • Ability to work effectively in a busy multidisciplinary team

  • Current unrestricted NSW Drivers License
