Job Description
Responsible for the upkeep maintenance and repair of machinery equipment and physical structures within the facility. This role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance troubleshooting issues and ensuring all systems and equipment operate safely and efficiently.Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all machinery and production equipment (e.g. inspecting drives motors belts and filters; checking fluid levels).
- Diagnose mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic problems and determine the best course of action to correct them.
- Dismantle and reassemble machinery to access and replace defective parts using hoists forklifts hand tools and power tools.
- Calibrate and adjust equipment to optimize performance and prevent future failures.
- Read and interpret technical manuals blueprints and schematics to guide repair work.
- Install new equipment and machinery as needed.
- Perform general building upkeep and repairs with additional employee support.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems (e.g. replacing light bulbs and sockets cleaning circuit breaker panels).
- Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance (e.g. fixing leaks unclogging drains).
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems (heating ventilation and air conditioning).
- Conduct routine inspections of the building and grounds to identify and address potential issues.
- Respond to facility-related work orders and emergency calls.
- Perform outdoor upkeep which may include landscaping snow removal and maintaining sidewalks.
- Order materials supplies and replacement parts to maintain adequate stock.
- Collaborate with other departments and external contractors to complete projects.
- Provide support for after-hours building needs.
Skills and Abilities
Education: High School Diploma or GED with over two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree or certificate from a technical or trade school is preferred.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures as well as industry and regulatory standards (e.g. OSHA). Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities repairs and parts used. Ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained in compliance with health and safety standards. Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans.
Technical Skills: Proven experience in a maintenance role preferably in a manufacturing industrial or commercial setting. Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical and hydraulic systems. Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools as well as precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret technical documents blueprints and schematics. Knowledge of HVAC plumbing and electrical systems. Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
