Job Summary

Primary Purpose:Provide innovative and strategic leadership in collaboration with others in order to create world-classlearning experiences for each and every Belton ISD student. Model thoughtful culture-building leadershippractices that demonstrate our BISD Values and Beliefs and achieve our district goals. Ensure high-qualitydifferentiated services tools and resources are cultivated and utilized in pursuit of exceptional studentlearning. Provide leadership for the development organization and implementation of the curriculuminstruction assessment and programming for pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Prioritize and ensurealignment of the developed curriculum assessment professional learning in pursuit of the BISD and Qualifications:Education/Certification:Masters degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction or related fieldA minimum of 3 years of experience in curriculum development instructional leadership or similarfield within a PK-12 settingTexas Teaching CertificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to lead change in alignment with District values and beliefsAbility to build team in alignment with the vision for Teaching & LearningAbility to think strategicallyAbility to listen activelyAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholdersKnowledge of theory and best practices in the areas of curriculum designKnowledge of best practices in the areas of formative and summative assessmentKnowledge of best practices in instructional designAbility to respond to and work effectively with parents and the communityKnowledge and able to model professional learning standardsMust be able to manage and resolve conflictsAbility to implement policy and proceduresAbility to interpret and visualize dataAbility to manage budget and personnelExperience:Seven (7) years experience as a school administratorMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Leadership1. Facilitate a culture of high achievement within the Teaching and Learning Department by living outthe BISD Vision Values & Beliefs and World-Class Employee Competencies.2. Create the conditions in which Teaching & Learning staff grow and provide high qualitydifferentiated services to teachers and instructional leaders.3. Supervise and coach Teaching & Learning staff in associated areas of curriculum instructionprofessional learning Development and Alignment:4. Lead the process design development evolution and revision of the written taught and assessedcurriculum as well as instructional framework to align with state standards district vision and goalsand in support of growing the Journey of a Graduate competencies for each and every student inBISD.5. Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum across grade levels and subject areaspromoting continuity and coherence in student learning.6. Stay actively engaged with current educational research and emerging trends to inform curriculumdevelopment and ensure instructional relevance.7. Ensures that curriculum management includes long and short-range planning and is responsive tonational state and local Strategies and Pedagogy:8. Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies andpedagogical approaches that promote student engagement critical thinking and problem-solvingskills.9. Promote the integration of technology and innovative teaching methodologies into the curriculum toenhance learning experiences.10. Collaborate with teachers to develop differentiated instructional strategies that meet the diverse needsof and Data Analysis:11. Ensure effective partnership and collaboration exists with Teaching and Learning Department leadersincluding Director of Assessment to design develop and facilitate implementation of a robustbalanced assessment system.12. Support a Comprehensive Needs Assessment process for campuses and district staff and participate inthe development of actions designed to improve outcomes for each and every student.13. Provide professional development and support to teachers in using data-driven instruction to enhancestudent learning outcomes.14. Ensure curriculum and instruction is inclusive of a comprehensive assessment system that includesformative summative and performance-based assessments.15. Analyze student achievement data to identify trends patterns and areas for improvement and use thefindings to inform instructional decision-making.16. Monitor the results of student assessment to articulate and interpret educational goals and objectivesfor the district administration department and PK-12 schools; systematically monitor schoolimprovement; develop long and short-range plans that will effectively reach district Learning:17. Plan and deliver high-quality professional learning and development programs that address theevolving needs of teachers and instructional staff.18. Collaborate with school leaders to develop and implement a systematic approach to professionalgrowth including mentoring coaching and peer collaboration.19. Actively researches current best practices and seeks innovative strategies and programs to meet theneeds of adult and student learners.20. Support teachers in their pursuit of continuous professional learning by identifying relevantworkshops conferences and training and Resource Implementation and Monitoring:21. Collaborate with school leaders and teachers to ensure effective implementation of the curriculumand instructional strategies.22. Monitor implementation of written taught and assessed curriculum through routine classroom visitsin partnership with campus leadership.23. Conduct curriculum audits and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of instructional programs andrecommend adjustments as needed.24. Involve instructional staff in the evaluation and selection of instructional materials to ensure access tohigh quality tools services and resources to meet the needs of each and every student.25. Coordinate with the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning to facilitate the Technologyand Instructional Materials Allotment (TIMA) process to include managing the TIMA fundseffectively.26. Support Library services to ensure high quality age appropriate reading materials are available tostudents. Oversee book review processes in accordance with district policies.27. In collaboration with department leaders support the development of high quality summerenrichment and acceleration programs to support the needs of each and every Engagement:28. Maintain a high degree of visibility within the community and school district.29. Establish and maintain effective communication systems with both internal and external stakeholders.30. Promote and partner with campus leaders to ensure a culture of high academic achievement andJourney of a Graduate competency growth across all campuses.31. Collaborate with district administrators principals teachers and other stakeholders to establish ashared vision for curriculum and instruction.32. Foster positive relationships with parents community members and external partners to ensure theirinvolvement and support in curriculum-related initiatives.33. Communicate and advocate for the districts curriculum and instructional goals and initiatives tovarious Reports and Law34. Ensure and other administration is aware of developments and changes in state federal and locallaws affecting education; ensures district implementation and compliance of policies established byfederal and state law and State Board of Education rules.35. Design and present high quality professional and effective presentations for various stakeholdersincluding the Board of Trustees or Superintendent regarding policies and practices associated withTeaching & Learning.36. Develop aligned procedures and guidelines to local policies in the area of Teaching & and Operations37. Ensure department budgets that are aligned to district goals values and beliefs. Assist withspecifications and budget preparation for instructional supplies equipment and materials (asappropriate).38. Maintain course description books to reflect graduation/promotion requirements approved coursescredit allowed and other pertinent information useful to parents students and staff39.
