Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is hiring for a CDL Support Technician for a part time wage position with its Driver Services administration in Richmond VA.
Wage positions are limited to working no more than 1500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 April 30 regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.
The CDL Support Tech Program Support is a technical position within a high-volume DMV regulatory unit. The position is responsible for researching evaluating and updating CDL and driver history records to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations. The role focuses on maintaining the accuracy of driver history records and assisting in resolving duplicate pointers through the SPEXS system helping Virginia remain compliant with REAL ID requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience in in high-volume data entry.
Experience in customer service and complex issue resolution.
Experience in regulatory or public service environments with CDL management driver history or licensing.
Experience interpreting complex documents including federal and state regulations.
Skilled in identifying and resolving record discrepancies for regulatory compliance.
Experience in conducting research to verify and update records.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word Excel) for data management and reporting.
Additional Considerations
Familiarity with DMV systems (e.g. OnBase CSS CDLIS SPEXS).
Knowledge of FMCSA REAL ID and state regulations as they apply to driver records.
