A. SUMMARY
You will apply advanced accounting and financial reporting expertise in U.S. GAAP to advise clients on complex issues arising from significant business transactions and transformations. These may include mergers and acquisitions initial public offerings (IPOs) restructurings carve-outs and changes in accounting standards. You will collaborate closely with senior executives auditors legal counsel investment bankers and other key stakeholders to ensure that all accounting disclosures and financial reports are accurate compliant and aligned with strategic objectives.
B. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Accounting Advisory
- Advise clients/leadership on complex accounting issues business transactions and new accounting standards.
- Support IPO readiness SPAC carve-outs M&A transactions and restructuring projects.
- Deliver high-quality accounting policy frameworks process improvements and digital transformation initiatives.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives (if advisory firm setting).
II. Technical Accounting
- Research interpret and apply U.S. GAAP/IFRS guidance to unique or complex transactions.
- Draft technical accounting position papers and memos to support conclusions.
- Assess and implement new accounting standards (ASC 606 ASC 842 CECL etc.).
- Provide training and guidance to finance teams on technical matters.
III. Financial Reporting
- Lead preparation and review of financial statements disclosures and regulatory filings (10-K 10-Q 8-K for SEC registrants).
- Manage consolidations close processes and reporting packages for subsidiaries.
- Ensure accuracy compliance and transparency in financial reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A Legal Treasury and Tax teams.
C. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA CMA or international equivalent required.
- 8-15 years of progressive experience in public accounting (Big 4 or other global firm) or a mix of public accounting and corporate roles.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to draft technical memos and advise on accounting implications of complex deals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives and/or clients.
- Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.
D. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Advisory/consulting experience with transaction support IPO readiness or capital markets.
- Public company financial reporting experience.
- ERP/financial close systems (SAP Oracle NetSuite Workiva or equivalent).
- Familiarity with SOX/internal controls.
- Industry exposure to SaaS fintech manufacturing or other sectors with complex revenue/financial instruments.
