ROLE SUMMARY

The Head of China commercial operations PSX is responsible for leading and developing a comprehensive commercial strategy profitability objectives and achieving sales results for the Proteomic Sciences (PSX) business in the China region for the Highplex and MidPlex customers including service providers.

Implementation of robust forecasting effective sales processes along with attracting retaining and developing key talent are vital. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with our customers and channel partners in close association with all functions in region and globally will drive customer value and satisfaction.

The individual should be a seasoned functional leader bringing experience in a global matrixed organization. They would foster their team in the global/regional context and should bring excellent communication skills and a persistent determined leadership style to affect positive outcomes in alignment with the broader business objectives. This role will assimilate Thermo Fisher tools infrastructure and operating principles into the business while building a regional business strategy specifically demonstrating our key capabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develops specific PSX Commercial business plans for business in the region including Marketing & Scientific Support partnering closely with the Global Marketing Scientific Support and Revenue Operations functions.
  • Offers Regional input into various business units to facilitate a greater understanding of the PSX and global life sciences (LSG) business
  • Accurately forecasts quarterly revenues. Ensures that the group remains within the expense budget.
  • Has full responsibility for the achievement of revenue plans for the portfolio including direct sales channel Territory Sales Specialist e-Business and any distribution channels.
  • Accurately forecasts quarterly revenues. Ensures that the group remains within the expense budget.
  • Build a high-performance team by hiring developing and engaging highly talented and motivated employees.
  • Identify innovative and creative ways to protect the core businesses. Promote productivity within the PSX business.
  • Be a contributing leader of the Global Commercial PSX leadership team and China regional leadership team driving collaboration to ensure achievement of growth.
  • Demonstrate and champion core authentic leadership behaviours. Promote diversity including with respect to experience and thought leadership.
  • Continually look to improve the sales processes people and sales coverage within the business.

Requirements:

  • B S MS or PhD in Biology or related life science field
  • Minimum 7 years of senior-level experience in sales sales management or as an application scientist within the life sciences sector preferably in advanced technologies
  • Extensive technical expertise in proteomics and biomarker discovery.
  • Proven success in selling to pharmaceutical academic and clinical customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire develop and lead strong sales teams.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeds revenue targets.
  • Established track record of excellence in customer-facing roles.
  • Mandatory experience with In Midplex technology.
  • Highly valued clinical experience.
